Therapy for Healing and Growth
At Chesnut Counseling, you’ll find a non-judgmental,
compassionate space for managing difficult life events, as well as healing from the weight of past experiences that may still affect life today. Whether you’re feeling anxious, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, this is a place to slow down, feel safe, and begin to rebuild trust — in yourself and in others.
In managing current stressors, whether due to difficult life transitions, grief, job or relationship stress, I pull from a variety of techniques-depending on your individual wants and needs. Some examples of modalities I often use are Solution-Focused practices, CBT for help identifying thought patterns that may be influencing difficult emotions and behaviors and DBT to help in building present moment awareness, reducing reactive emotions and working with healthy boundaries and communication skills.
We can move beyond talk therapy, if needed, in order to heal deep core wounds, single event traumas, or more complex trauma using an attachment focused lens. Often these types of trauma require working holistically with the whole self, both brain and body. I have been trained in multiple trauma modalities, including EMDR and level one Lifespan Integration Therapy.
